Cannot connect on Windows: Error -2/83

This error code indicates that security software is blocking port 80. Access to this port is required to update our software.

Follow these steps to resolve this issue:

  1. Restart your computer and power off/on any network equipment you have connected (e.g., router, access points, etc.).
  2. Once your computer has restarted, verify that your internet connection is working.
  3. Reopen the program.

If this fails, try configuring your firewall.

If you continue to have difficulty after making these changes, let us know the following information:

  1. Are you connecting through a proxy server or VPN (if you are, please give details)?
  2. Specify the name and version of any security software you are running.
  3. Connection type (i.e., Cable, DSL, Satellite, etc.).
  4. ISP (Internet Service Provider).
  5. Our software's log files.
